Sunday was the day of our annual girls' tradition of attending The Nutcracker. This year, it was just Mali and I again. It was so very nice to go with just her and get in some Mommy/Mali time. I can't count how long it has been since we've really done some special just the two of us. Mali was very sad that Eleri wasn't going but since Eleri had been up ALL night she needed her nap. And I very much enjoyed not having to keep a toddler happy during the performance. Mali and I got snacks and she got a special Nutcracker snowglobe. Mali really enjoyed it and was excited about meeting the cast again. Although it didn't seem like much of the cast came out for the meet and greet. We did get to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and a few of the dancers from the Waltz of the Flowers. Mali also got to see Emma who danced as a Merliton and The Columbine Doll this year. Mali was excited to see her. Mali also informed me that she wasn't going to be afraid of the Mouse King this year and was going to take her picture with him. Of course she wouldn't and was clinging to me. Even after the Mouse King's real mother assured us that he was just a teenage boy and he was very nice. Mali was most excited about her free ballet poster that she got when I signed up to be on the Lonestar Ballet mailing list.
